TraveledMap uses an external service to calculate routes and automatically selects the shortest path. The modes of transport are provided for informational purposes and have some specificities:
Therefore, the availability and accuracy of routes depend directly on the quality of information provided by the external service.
To generate routes between your steps, go to your trip, open the "Steps" tab, then click on "Generate Routes". Choose the mode of transport, select the relevant steps, and click on "Create Routes". A path connecting the steps will automatically appear on the map.
If you want to create a customized route, click on "Create a Specific Route". Then select the mode of transport and the steps you want to connect. To modify your route styles, visit the page https://www.traveledmap.com/help/customize. Finally, click "Validate Route".
However, it is possible to use the option "Trace the path between your steps using .gpx or .kml files", available here: https://traveledmap.com/pricing. This feature allows you to import a .gpx or .kml file, which are standard formats containing route coordinates, commonly used by GPS devices and other navigation tools.
If you have this feature and a .gpx or .kml file, you can import it by going to your trip, then the "Steps" tab. Click on "Create a Specific Route", check the "Use a file" box (1), then click the "Browse" button (2) to select the file from your computer. Once the file is imported, click "Validate Route" to display the route on the map.
If a company has specific needs, we can consider developing custom features, such as a route choice or suggestion system, or other tools adapted for particular uses.
