TraveledMap needs place names that can be found geographically. For example, "best sunset spot", "the little restaurant near the lake", or "the Airbnb after Yosemite" are too vague. "Yosemite Valley", "Monterey", "Grand Canyon Village", or "Lombard Street, San Francisco" are better examples. Search is contextual, so you usually do not need to add the country every time. If a stop still is not found, you can place it manually during the itinerary validation step with the dedicated button.
Yes, photos can be added to make the memory even more personal. Depending on the design, you can keep a very minimal look or add a few strong images from the trip. This feature is currently available on desktop, but not yet on mobile.
You can create vertical, horizontal, or square posters depending on the shape of your route and the style you prefer. We support international A-series formats, such as A4, A3, or A2, as well as more US-oriented print sizes, so the poster can be ordered and printed properly for customers around the world.
If you traveled with the person, you can create the poster from the route you shared. If you do not know the full itinerary, you can ask them for the main stops, ask someone who traveled with them, or offer the idea first and finalize the map together. We can also prepare gift cards: simply contact us and we will help you offer the poster without needing every trip detail upfront.
You can choose between 6 map backgrounds, then personalize the marker colors, route colors, text colors, labels, title, format, and overall poster style. The goal is to make the map feel close to your trip while still looking beautiful on a wall.
